Dashboards

Here you can learn about the different types of dashboard on the Sensolus platform.

Generally speaking, a dashboard visualizes data in a way it immediately gives insights on your business process.

A more complete definition of a dashboard is a visual representation of data that help business users make smarter, data-driven decisions.

The Sensolus platform contains four different types of dashboards:

  1. Sensolus dashboards: Hard-coded dashboards like for example the geozone dashboard or the location history data dashboard that quickly gives a high-level overview of the number and type of assets of each geozone. The dashboards have the possibility to filter and click through to get the information you are looking for. The Sensolus dashboards are however limited in flexibility: you cannot decide what graphs or tables are shown, you cannot change format or combine different datasets. The geozone dashboard will quickly show how many assets are on each geozone but it will not include information the resolution time of an alert in these geozones for example.
  2. Custom dashboards: visual representations of real-time and historical Sensolus platform data where the users can create themselves via dragging & dropping of data widgets which data types, and how these data, are visualized. When you want to combine different datasets, like the geozones and alerts, you will need to build your own custom dashboard. In there, you can create a dataset will all relevant information and visualize it the way you want, so it provides the insights you are looking for. The dashboard can be consulted by all the users of your organization just like any other default dashboard. It is very powerful to make custom dashboards as it gives the business insights of your processes with only the relevant data.
  3. Embedded Power BI dashboards: visual representations of data created with the Microsoft Power BI platformthat are embedded in the Sensolus platform.
  4. Embedded IFrame dashboards: visual representations of data created with any other Business Intelligence (BI) or other tool that are embedded in the Sensolus platform.

A high-level comparison between the different types of dashboards are shown in the table below.
